Ever tried an omelette that has juicy, succulent oysters instead of mushrooms? If you have not, you probably have never had Penang's famous Fried Oyster.
Just imagine this - fragrant omelette that is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with oysters so fresh, succulent and juicy. This dish of Fried Oyster is a mixture of tapioca flour batter, chives and eggs fried in a flat cast iron wok. Fresh oysters are added and the omelette is fried till golden brown. The oyster omelette is then garnished with chopped spring onions and served with a side of sweet and sour chilli sauce.
A plate of Fried Oyster costs from RM6.00 onwards. Do look out for the halal sign before you place your order as some stalls include lard in their cooking.
